Cooling towers for PAPER AND CELLULOSE
PAPER AND CELLULOSE

The Brazilian cellulose and paper industry is one of the largest in the world, responsible for the preservation and planting of millions of hectares, such as eucalyptus and pine, useful for the supply of this raw material so necessary for countless sectors of the market, including the manufacturing of several types of paper, diapers, absorbents, fabrics, and adhesives, among others.

According to BRACELPA, the sector is composed of 220 companies spread over 18 states in Brazil, generating 128 thousand direct jobs and 640 thousand indirect jobs, and moving more than 60 billion Reais annually.

In the pulping process for the production of pulp, the rupture of the fiber bonds within the wood occurs, giving rise to the cellulose pulp, so the wood is subjected to cooking in a digester, and a chemical solution is used to separate the cellulose fibers from the lignin, generating a huge amount of heat that is transferred to the process water, being cooled by the water cooling tower.
